What up! Im new to the board and I got 2 QUESTIONS...

1.Say I got a finished beat on my MPC-2000 and I want to transport my beat from the MPC to my computer... how do I do that?

Should I record it using Acid Pro?

2.I noticed that when I i.e. record a sequence of drums, the drums will automatically hit the "right places". Meaning I can't do drums with shuffle that'll add some liveness and funk to my drums. How do I shuffle my drums?

Need some help here.

Yeah, I've been messing around with it alot today and Im finding out some more things...

sometimes i like to turn the timing off when im recording my drums. it gives a natural feel to it.

when i got my laptop i started recording into cool edit pro. from my mixers main outputs, i hooked it into the input on my laptop. press record in c.e.p and record it that way. then i used to unplug it and walk my laptop downstairs onto my faster computer. record it from the laptop into c.e.p. on my other computer then finish the track up on there. thats how i usually do it lol

Aight, but that's a pretty long process

I was thinking of just hookin my MPC up with my computer via the "STEREO OUT" and record my beat in Acid Pro.

you can do that. the only reason why i do that is so i can work on it from my desktop computer. not my laptop. my desktop is down stairs. its a really easy process. but do it how you want. but its totally possible to record into your computer.

Yeah, that's what I do. All the mixing stuff is done on the multitracker, from there to the laptop, then to the desktop at home to play with.
