PLEASE HELP!!!

Whats the word? iight my favorite producers are Premo Pete Rock and Alchemist i wanted to know if ANYBODY could tell me what equipment they use and if i get a 4000 (MPC) would that help me out alot and how long is the learning process i know thats up to me but i wanna jump right into it and what is the best MPC to get i've read up and the 4000 is peace but s there something else out there thats a notchh up if so let me know and PLEASE let me know whats the best and who uses what thanks

It's hard to say what's the best equipment to use cause its so individual. But I'd recommend gettin the classic MPC 2000 or maybe the newer version MPC 1000 cause its so easy to hook it up with a computer plus it works as an external hard drive so you can move files directly from your pc to your MPC through USB.

Premo uses an MPC 2000XL I think, Pete Rock is on some MPC shit too... dont know what model.
Alchemist uses an Ensoniq ASR-10 keyboard.

I just wanted to say I like your enthusiasm, but. . .Trust me the equipment you use isn't going to necessarly make you better than the next kid. Its about you becoming the master of your equipment. So what ever you decide to get, learn everything you can about it and you will be killin the beats trust me.

sike, but the 2000 is cool. if you have the money, shii why not get the 4000? i would love to bang wit that. but if you dont know much bout it you might wanna start wit the xl

word no question thanks ya'll i think i need somebody to school me i wanted to get a 4000 because it has alot of components from other MPC's 2000 or XL well all of them except the 60 i just want something that i can create a different and brand new sound nothing like whats out now i want something that has everything so i don't have to go from machine to machine to machine to get that sound i want i mean i want to dabble in everything but i wanna start off and master 1 thing and i don't know i was just guessing the 4000 would help me out i know the learning stages and/or process is long but thats the price i gotta pay if i wanna get to where i wanna get to but thanks alot

I know this is the mpc board but for the kind of money you are talking about (MPC 4k) I would also go and check out the MV-8000 I know it's Roland copcat ish and what not but it seems like a very complete 1-does-it-all-box. Me I'll stick with my 2kxl when it comes back from repair (:( 6 days and counting...)
