Ok i got a MPC2000XL, i bought it used. Well basicly it says i dont have my effects board installed, where can i get one and is it worth it?

i wouldnt get it. its a lot of money and most cats who got it dont really think it was worth it. U should get like a rack mount effects processor. Or a mixer with effects, or the 8 outs.

If you have a PC or something else with decent to good effects then DONT get the effects board. It will just be money wasted.
If you have no other way(s) of doing effects and don't wanna get other gear then get the effects board. It's a little expensive but it's better to have than nothing.

i love my effects board and use it on every beat, but then again, I only use my 2000 to make beats, no computers. When i jump on my friends mpc (with no effects) i almost feel lost, haha.

8 outs and an external FX unit seems more future-proof to me..

I feel the same way when I used to jump on my friends 2k w/no effects board. When he finally got the xl studio w/effects board I was like cool. I feel more at home.
