MPC and sound modules?

How good do sound modules and MPC2Ks work together, would i be better off hooking up a sound module > MIDI keyboard the Midi keyboard > MPC? Or can i just compose with the MPC and sound module alone using the key pads.

you can definatly hook up keyboards and stuff to the 1000. In the main screen you can set the midi in's on each track at the bottom right of the screen...

On the 2000xl you can just hook up the keyboard to the midi-in, and the soundmodule to the midi-out A.
Then in the mainscreen set "DRUM" to midi, and scroll to A-1. You can now play the module with both the pads and the keys.

Will i still need to hook up everything to a mixer?

yes. midi doesnt send audio, its just sayin to the sound mod YO TURN ON NOTE 38 FOR .084 SECS! AIGHT TURN IT OFF. ur sound mod needs to have its outs connceted casue that is where the samples are being triggered. get a little berhinger mixer to route the sounds.
