Problem recording various tracks.

Hey guys, i've had my MPC for a couple of years now, and for some reason, when i'm sequencing on it, i'll get done recording a couple of tracks and when i try to record some more tracks, it keeps erasing the previous recorded tracks. Can someone please help me with that.

REC + PLAY START
Will record over your track from the start.

ODUB + PLAYSTART
Will overdub (add on) from the start of the track.

Thanks for the reply Lampdog, but thatis not the problem. I know about the overdub and play start. The problem is, let's say i already recorded tracks 1, 2, 3, and 4, now when i go to record track 5, as soon as a press the record or overdub button, tracks 1, 2, 3, and 4 stop playing as if they got erased.

what mpc are you using?

maybe theres an option that you can select that mutes all other tracks when recording a new one? you sure track 5 aint on solo?
