Hi Guys,
I've recently bought an MPC2000XL, I am very experienced in MIDI applications, and functions, but can't seem to figure this one out.

I am trying to control my EMU Sound module, with a MIDI keyboard, going through the MPC, using the MPC as a sequencer. I am going out of my keyboard, into the MPC and out of the MPC into the EMU.

I have tried to fix the settings as per the manual, but I can't get the right things controlling the right things. I have had the keyboard controlling the MPC, the MPC controlling the Sound Module, the keyboard controlling both the MPC and the sound module. But I cannot get the keyboard to play just the sound module through the MPC.

Please help!!!

Thanks,

Hello,

Which EMU unit are you working with ? I have the Motif-7 and it's playing my Proteus 2000 easily through my MPC 2000 XL. I have the Motif coming into the MPC and back on MIDI "A" ( IN/OUT). I have my Proteus on MIDI "B" from the MPC (OUT). Once you select the track corresponding to that output, your instrument should sound. Hope this helps !.......................K

Gary,

If your keyboard is connected to MIDI "A" IN, you should also connect MIDI "A" OUT going back to the keyboard and use MIDI "B" out connected your sound module. Then look at the lower portion of your MPC where you have an "S". Scroll it to "MIDI" 1A-16A and you should hear your keyboard. Scroll it through 1B-16B and you should hear your sound module. Set it to DRUMS and you should hear your MPC pads. Hope this helps..................K
