Motif 6 w/MPC 2000xl

Hey homies! I am a newbie to the 2kxl. I have a Motif 6 and can play melodies like crazy on the motif and want to match my melodies with my drum patterns on the MPC. How can I load my meolides into to MPC? i don't have much experience with MIDI at all. The way I have been making my beat is by loading my drum track onto Cubase, then playing back the drum track and playing my melodies while sampling to the MPC in real time????? There HAS to be an easier way!!!!! Please HELP!
