im sure theres an obvious answer to this question, but iwas just wondering...
as far as i can see - the MPC operates in a similar way to a pc, in that it requires an operating system to run
of course, as far as computers go, windows and OSX domiante, but there are all kinds of third party operating systems available - for example Linux
if you look at the XBOX, so many companies develop chips which allow custom interfaces (not entire sure about entire OSs tho) to be used on microsofts systems
now, alot of these third party developments have many advantages over the standard OSs that were pushed to use. majority are open source so bugs and problems are fixed more quickly. as these systems are developed by users, they know what we want, and more powerful tools are incorporated within them. with enough development, they usually work better...
now
if we look at, for example, the MPC 1000 - timestretch is missing
isnt it feasable that in a future OS timestretch could be included (not that i really need it)
we all sit around waiting for akai to bring out new OSs with bugs cleaned out and new features
but
couldnt someone with enough programming knowledge make their own
the console and pc market is filled with modders and programmers
do we have none?
is it not possible?
or are there simply no MPC users who can?
