Absolute beginner: Recording does not work

Hey there,

i am currently switching from traditional basement-musician to digital music production. In the beginning I started to play around with FL Studios and now switched to MPC Beats + MKI mini 3.

Thanks to a patient YouTuber I finished my set up and everything looked good so far. Until I tried to record my first beat.

Sound when I hit the Pads? Yes.
Recording works? Yes.

But the drums I played and heard dont show up on the grid and wont be recorded/replayed. It worked the first time I installed it but since the update 4 hours ago it's not working.

Am I missing something thats very obvious?
