What I mean is, once I have something in mind, is there a way to arm a track to begin playing the track from a pre-defined point and recording my input once I hit the first pad or key on my MPK Mini? Obviously I would need to stop the recording manually since it wouldn't know when I was finished. I'm pretty new at this and this would be a huge help in just being able to get things done in a more efficient manner till I get the hang of punching in at the exact right time. My MPK is also off to the side and I don't have room to put it right in front of me so it hasn't been ideal having to hit record with either the mouse or keyboard and then swiveling 45 degrees to try and rush to get in position before the track starts, this would alleviate some of that anxiety as well.

If you can't tell, I have no idea what I'm doing.

I can't find the button to edit my post or post title, so just wanted to mention the title should say "begin recording", not "being recording".

Edit: OK so I guess you can only edit replies here and not the original post. Got it. Gotta make sure I proofread better next time I have a question...

I got the Title handled, All good.

I don't use the software so I'm only good w/ that Title for now  .

Cool, thanks for fixing the title for me. Doesn't seem to be a ton of people that use this software or still make tutorials for it, so it's been a bit of a struggle, especially since I don't fully understand all the terminology. Hoping I can pick up some useful info here with a bit of digging. Forums are few and far between these days and a lot of knowledge unfortunately seems to be moving to Discord, so finding this place was a nice surprise.

I don‘t have Beats installed, but if a function key (or any other key) can be assigned to the transport control you may consider a tiny wireless keyboard that can be placed next to your midi device.
A numeric keypad may serve the same purpose (frequently used with Cubase afaik).
