Pads aren't working properly

I have recently just gotten a MDP218 and the pads are not syncing up properly. For example whenever I tap pad 2, pad 2 lights up but on FL Studio and MPC Beats it registers it as pad 1 and that's pretty much the same for every pad. I have no clue if I'm just being stupid or if i have to open the box up.

That‘s probably because of pad note mapping. MPC has used „optimized“ layout to put the most important drum notes (usually spread over 2 octaves) on 16 pads for finger drummers.
