Hi all ,
I’m brand new to the MPC workflow - last time I used an Akai sampler it was the S1000-
My question is now that I’ve got my sample on the screen how do I get it to play back on the pads/keys - it’s just a vocal sample so nothing fancy just one phrase - but for the hell of me I can’t manage to load it onto a program - anyone got an idiots step by step guide to Sampling a vocal phrase and playing it back on an MPC 61 they can point me to ?

Many thanks

Pwr on Keys.
EMPTY PROJECT @bottom screen
MAIN button
TRACK area, drum program icon.
PROGRAM area, ASSIGN SAMPLES icon.
BROWSE @ bottom screen, PLACES tab up above, go to and highlight your sample, LOAD @ bottom right.
SMPLE ASSIGN tab @ bottom of screen. Sample assign only shows samples in ram.
Drag and drop to pad.

AUDITION @ bottom screen, hit auto, this for when you browse, your samples will play for a few seconds.

While your in the browse screen, tap the COG WHEEL on the right, uncheck HIDE PROJECT FOLDERS.

This load advice is for drum programs.

For keygroup assigning the method is diff.
There is more than 1 way to assign samples. This is just one way.
