HI-HATS QUESTION PLEASE HELP

Alright I just got this machine and I'm tryin to figure out how to do the hi-hats on this machine cuz I know nothin bout makin the beats.Can I change the tempo,do I play the hi's only between the the snare or all the way through the beat.One more question can I do the drums last and or do I always have to do them 1st?

Do what you want to do.

theres no rules. If there were, id tell you to do the opposite to find your own style.

Id lay the pattern 1st....Then lay the hats compliment it and give it movement/groove.

Maybe bang out the patten on a table then use you mouth to do the hats where u 'feel' they should go.

There are really no rules tho. Try out different ways to make u comfy with your machine

under a sequence

play each instrument on its own track

hi hats on track one

snar on track2

piano on track3 etc...


how you play them - like they already said - is totally up to you

Although everyone has their own style, it is always easiest for me to get my main loop/sample, then set my hats to go with that and tighten it up - after my hats are set, then i'd usually do my drum pattern and snare to fit the loop and hats perfectly .... Pete said it correct in issue 8 of wax poetics - get that issue - he says it better
