Mpc one electric bass expansion

On pad perform, when I set the key, the notes don't match. When I set the key to G major, the note on pad 1 plays an E but displays a G. Newbie mistake, I'm sure. Please help.

You don't sound like a newbie if your ears tell you E but the MPC says G, then set the key to C and see what happens. Then check every key.
