MPC STUDIO PADS CONFIGURATION

I just bought MPC Studio, installed the software, etc , however I can't figure out why my samples are playing the way they are. For example,(A) Pad 1 only plays when I strike it the first time after loading a kit; (B) and some of the other samples sound layered even though no layering is shown in the "Program Edit" window. I am a total beginner with MPC , so any assistance in this regard would be appreciated.

Sounds like a problem with the controller... Try using it as MIDI controller in another DAW such as FL Studio and see if the pads react the same way. Let us know! I've had 2 MPC Studios before, now I have a Renaissance. I've opened them all up multiple times to upgrade the Pads. Make sure it isn't the controller by using it in another DAW
