How to correctly assign samples to a keygroup program?

How should I correctly assign samples of a single non-continuous scale to a keygroup program? I have samples of 10 notes from the E Major scale that go like this E3, A3, B3, C#4, D#4, E4, F#4, G#4, A4, B4. I have made a keygroup out of them assigning each sample to a single keygroup like this E3 -> keygroup 1, A3 -> keygroup 2 and so on. It kind of works, but when I look at the piano roll the notes do not correspond to the piano roll on the left. For example the note E3 is displayed on the row A-2, B3 is displayed on the row C#-2, so I assume I have done something wrong.
Help me fix this please as I really would like to have correct visualization of the notes for easier chord editing and so on, but I couldn't find a solution on the net, and this is my 4-th day with the MPC One+!

To answer so some extent my own question - the problem was that I had assigned the samples also to the pads of bank A outside of program edit mode and that assignment apparently took over. That's resolved by re-creating the keygroup program without assigning any samples to pads outside of program edit mode and now the notes are correctly recorded in grid view mode.
New problem - now the notes are spread very inconveniently over two banks... How can I overcome this - maybe use "custom" in pad perform? But how...

Yes, I tried all the options. Chromatic spreads the notes across banks and makes this particular scale unplayable. I thought that custom may be of use, but no - if I use it to assign all the notes onto a single bank the piano roll order gets broken again. In the end I made it work using "notes" mode and the octave +- buttons, which to my pleasant surprise work completely independent from pad banks! So now I have my whole scale on a single page / virtual bank and they are also recorded correctly on the grid view. It seems now that it works as expected, I'll test it later, but I am quite happy about it
