If so, I wondered if there was a link anyone has? I've been making beats over 30 years but only just started using an MPC (I bought the one plus). It seems like an alien world to me! I'm used to keyboard and mouse with Logic...

My workflow is normally sample vinyl, make chops, add drums, add bass, maybe use some plugins, add some scratches, maybe an accapella , send to LANDR for mastering...

I make Hip Hop, from downtempo JonMakesBeats style stuff to late 80s Bomb Squad style, Boom Bap, Electro, drum machine stuff.

Thanks all!!

Not really possible to make a proper course for MPC3 yet as MPC3 is currently buggy and unfinished, we've already seen a major new feature added in the second public beta (track mutes per seq) so it's likely any course released today is going to be outdated or full of unnecessary workarounds for stuff that's subsequently been fixed. IMO have a play with it, watch some youtube videos etc and check out my MPC Bible 3 once it's released. In the mean time I would suggest you do any serious work on MPC 2.15.1

Thanks a lot! I bought your excellent Bible and I'll wait for that... in the meantime I'm only just starting my journey with MPC so I might as well start with the new firmware, I'll get my head into it as far as possible until it goes to full standard public release... thanks again...

Some of us who are novices to the MPC are in a bit of a bind. I'm personally not doing any "serious work ", but the dilemma is whether to put the energy into 2.15 or just kind of explorer with 3.0 so that you don't have to unlearn things that you just learned. To be plain, this is a "good dilemma " because of all the MPC awesomeness. But after playing around with 2.15 for a few days, I'm now looking at 3.0 and wondering exactly how to get started not only with 3.0 but with the MPC generally.

Yes it's not an ideal situation for anyone ATM but I feel that most MPC users are actually just using 2.15 and are either unaware of MPC3 or are simply not bothered as they know it's a work in progress and a lot is likely to change in the coming weeks/months. A lot will also be very weary about installing unstable beta software on their $2000 MPC.
