Panning on 2000XL

Could someone please explain to me the best way to pan sounds on the 2000XL?

I'm sure its in the manual somewhere but i cant seem to find it since i moved......

Aw, c'mon.... How can you even think it's easier or quicker to post something like this and wait for an answer than to just RTFM or download the .pdf and then RTFM. Even without the manual you'd stumble upon the pan function in the mix page without even looking for it. I mean, it's not like the MPC will explode if you just push a couple of buttons to see what happens...

If you really feel it necessary for me to explain my situation i will.....I come on this board everyday and find that people who post on here are not only knowledgable on EVERYTHING, but they're cool with helping other people out.... Its also better for me to hear it from someone who knows how to do it as opposed to "just pushing buttons" Obviously i'm trying to figure out how to elevate myself, and i never said that i wasnt going to **** around with it and try to figure it out.....i just want to get some input from other people........so wheres your problem?

The problem was solved with Mr. Cooocooo's reply so let's please leave it at that.

That was a basic question, and honestly deserved and answer BUT
seeing that it's am overlysupersimplisticalbasic question and after paying
that much money for the machine you should have been trying to get your
moneys worth and pilferring the manual for all it's worth. that's it.

Really, I wasn't trying to dis you Ainz, but the pan controls are right there in the mix page, where they should be. I just couldn't see how you'd think asking for help would be quicker or easier than just taking a good look at your machine.

You're free to ask whatever you like here, but with something like this, I think you could have saved yourself some time by taking a moment to look at the different pages on the MPC. Even without the manual, you'd find the pan controls in less than ten seconds that way.

^^ understood...........sorry i came at you sideways lo-fi, i'm short and i was drunk....i tend to get defensive when those two mix .... so let me redeem myself and emphasize my question further......... what i'm ultimately trying to learn is volume swells and how to pan a sample from Left to right........ And from what i have tried so far, nothing seems to work....... also.... i have a shaker recorded on 2 tracks....the same exact sound, but i want one to play through the verse, and both to play through the chorus....and i want one to pan more right and one to pan more left...but since they're the same sound, I can only pan it to one side... is there a way around that?

Not sure if you mean you want to automate the pan of sample, if that is what you're refering to then............

Go into the Mixer screen> press the SETUP soft key(F5)> change Record mix changes: to YES. Now the MPC will record any pan or level changes you make in the mix screen in real time. You can also program the pan in step edit, easier if you need fast ping pong type panning fx.

Go into the Program assign screen and assign the shaker to two differnt pads and pan them accordingly in the mixer screen.
