I've been trying very hard to set up a external drum machine to be triggered by the sequencer on the MPC One. I have a midi instrument set up on track 1 of the sequence and have the correct midi port and channel assigned. I'me going directly from the midi out on the MPC to the midi in on the drum machine. I do have sound from the drum machine on my speakers and actually can trigger some of the sounds from the mpc's pads so I know the connection is working.
The issue I seem to be having is the interaction between midi control and pad control (I think). I have the correct midi note numbers for the individual drum sounds on the drum machine. and have been trying both going in menu/midi control and editing the pads directly there by directly assigning the note numbers and it will work for a bit then will stop working. And when that doesn't work I try pad control with the same results.
It feels like somehow pad control is over riding the settings I'm making in midi control but I don't know.
