Hey, what's up. I just won an MPC2000XL in an auction and it'll be here in a few days. I just want to know a few things about it before I get started.

1. I don't know what type of connection outlets it has. Will I be able to hook up a ZIP drive to it right away or will I need some kind of adaptor?

2. I've seen a lot of downloadable drum kits, instrument kits, and sound fonts. How do I know if these are compatible with the MPC?

3. I will also be getting a turntable a week or two after my MPC comes, how do you usually go about connecting the turntable to the MPC? What type of cords would I need to get?

4. Will I be able to hook a keyboard up straight to the MPC with a MIDI cord?

I'd really appreciate it if you all could answer these. Sorry if they're stupid questions but I'm as new as a newbie can get, lol. Thanks, peace...

You might have wanted to look into this before you bought it, but...

1. It has a SCSI connection on the back. You need a SCSI Zip drive and the right cable.

2. It can read AKAI .SND and normal .WAV files.

3. You need a mixer or pre amp. You'd probably need RCA to 1/4" cables from the mixer/amp to the MPC's ins.

4. Yes.

Thanks for answering my questions. It helped out a lot. I figured I was right about a lot of the things I was wondering but I just wanted to make sure. And I had to order the MPC I saw because it was such a great deal, and I knew I was going to want one so I went for it. But once again thanks for the reply
