Hello. I was gifted an Akai MPK49 yesterday and I have been trying to find the correct software/VST's . I will just go ahead and list a chronological rundown to where I am stuck at this point.
1. Got the Key board with no power supply, used 6v DC power supply that I had.
2. Connected USB to Presonus Audiobox Midi interface. No sound yet so I plugged directly into the PC.
3. Opened Cakewalk and got those stock VSTs to react with the key board.
4. Made a few recordings but can only manually select functions from DAW and only get one insturment that plays from the keay board, Drums, Piano, Bass though some of the insturments do not sound on all of the keys.
5. Began searching for correct software and can not find any clarity on what I need to turn this board into a work horse.
I may be using a DAW that is not compatible with MPC software, that is why I should stop and get some answers. Hopefully I can get this thing working, I read some other threads and it looks like I have the connectivity part working somewhat. As far as firmware updates and software I have nothing so far. Oh and by the way, I have no stock functions. No arpegiator, playback or preset sounds at all. It also says "Generic" on all the memory slots.
