MPC1K...What Else?

I'm getting an MPC1K for christmas, and I want to know what else I will be needing, besides what I have here:

CURRENT SETUP
- MPC1K (for christmas)
- Mixer
- Turntable
- What else is needed???

A PC/Mac is handy for grabbing new samples, advanced editing & recording. I've had my 1k for bout 3 months with just turntables & 3 channel mixer, got new one under the tree though!! & gettin PC in New year. To be honest I think ya better off starting with less gear, just concentrate all efforts into mastering MPC first, that should keep ya busy first off, I was using friends computer for new samples, next mission will be learning Audition when I get my PC.

God, I wish so many other people thought the same thing.

BUT

What do I do after I've mastered using the MPC1k

you get either an interface to multitrack record onto the computer or a stand alone unit.

I really like the
mpc1000-yamaha aw16g combo
and the
mpc1000-1010 combo.

Does any body think I should pick up a synthesizer???
If so, RACK SYNTHESIZER/KEYBOARD???

stick with mastering the MPC first then move on to synths and stuff

If u r gonna produce some hiphop, throw the synths and sample cd:s straight way to the hell!!

Synth sounds is for commercial MTV HipFlops and for pop music.

Silly question time: hope you got some vinyl to go on that turntable, unless you plan to sample the slipmat..?

I have synths, true, but I started on electric bass, and happily recommend it to anyone looking to expand their horizons. Learning curve is not as steep as guitar, less finger contortions, but the sky's the limit.
