My tsig wont change for the entire beat

I need help in changing my time signeature back to 4/4. I changed it to 3/4 when I was bored, and I cannot change it back. What it does is changes it to 4/4 for maybe 1 bar or so, then changes back to 3/4.

what the ____ is going on???

almost forgot,
i have a mpc 2000xl

and another thing...
my nv slider doesnt work (i did the cleanup and tightening of the setup, still dont work) is it extremely expensive to get it repaired? or is it something like $20 expensive

Explain your setup so that someone who has a clue may help you out bro.

i am in the mode where you press the "main screen" button
89.0 BPM (that won't change either)
32meg mem
zip100 internal drive
i sampled a few guitars, organs and drums and assigned them to the first 16 pads in pad bank A
nothing in the "step" mode (when you press F1 on the mainscreen)
I dont know what else to say
whenever i go to the top where is see "sq" and change it to "2 - unused" or whatever, it does the same thing

The funny thing is, I turn it off, start all over, sample something completely different. and it does the same damn thing.

Now, WHAT THE _____ IS GOING ON???????
