Tap tempo How do i work this ish?

When i try to tap tempo to an acapella or an instrumental record it sounds like ish and i can't seem to line them up can someone tell me what i should be tapping to? Is it the bass or the drums? I'm a newbie and i love my mpc i've had korg drum machines and samplers and i sucked at tap tempo with those too. Thanks dj dabble

drums. count 1, 2, 3, 4 to the beat. it takes time to learn it. also goto other mode and set the tap tempo to 4 instead of 2 and it will give more accurate times. also dont try to find timing on accapellas, find the og beat and use that instead. accapellas dont have transients like drums.

youll never get dead on timing with tap tempo anyway. its good enough to guess the bpm, but you need to fukc with it to make the sample fit the way you want it to. all it takes is a minute or two
