I am having a problem with my programming. I have kick and snare pattern that are quantized and play on beat. When I trigger a sample on another track, sometimes it sounds like a couple of my kicks run closer together than they normaly do without the sample playing. For instance, if the pattern goes:
Kick--Snare--Kick-Kick--Snare, without the sample playing; when the sample is added the drum pattern sounds like it shifts to:
Kick--Snare--KickKick--Snare. I hope I am being clear. Is there something I can do? Is it an improperly trimmed sample?

And by the way, I am using an MPC 1000.

Yes, I have this problem sometimes too. You have to turn off the time correction feature. To do this, go to the MAIN page and:

1) Press F1

2) In the Note Value field, turn the DATA WHEEL right until it says OFF.

8)

By the way, you don't have to turn the time correction feature completely off. You can adjust until it sounds like how you want it to sound. And if that doesn't work, then you have to turn it off.
