After searching archives, I am still curious as to how I get the midi (both the events and the sounds they trigger) and the audio tracks of a song on one piece of equipment.
I want to use Logic as my final sequencer. I do all of my tracks on the 1000. I recently learned how to trigger midi using the 1000 as master and the triton as slave. Here is my dilema:
I do a kick, snare, and hats track on the 1000. Via midi, I do another bass track from the triton. Here are my two questions:
1) how do i get the sound from the triton onto my mpc to save as part of the sequence without having to turn on the keyboard everytime I load the song? I know midi data is there but do i have to record the bass pattern as an audio sample on the 1000?
2) How do I get the audio from the MPC (the kick, snare, & hats) and the midi from the triton (both events and bass sound) all into Logic and synced up? Do I audio sample the bass and drums into Logic and just edit the samples in Logic's sample editor? Drag and drop wav files from the compact flash into Logic's arrange window?
Ultimately I want to burn songs as I finish them to make a demo cd. I have been running audio out to an external cd burner straight from the 1000 (obviously using all audio tracks.) I would like to incorporate audio and midi into my songs for better timing. I'm just trying to find out the best way to accomplish this. Thanks.
