Hey I've been eyeing the $40 tutorial pdf thing, but before I shell out that kind of dough, does it go into other aspects of the MPC that aren't just beat-related?

I produce mainly techno, not very interested in hip hop but I might try it out.. but would the guide help me out with techno/house tracks?

Thanks!

Yes.
The tutorial deals with all basic of the mpc, and that's usefull for any kind of music. Some parts will be less important to you, like chopping, but it might still be fun to learn.

hi, could you be a bit more specific? is the tutorial a kind of re-hash of the manual, or does it actually go into some music theory and genre-specific discussion as well (which is what i need help on)?

I think I will get the tutorial regardless, but funds are low right now so I'm trying to decide if I need it now or if I can wait till later.

At the end of the day electronic/sampled music is all based round the same principles. Yer tekno likes snares and hihats much as hip hop does, so just go with the flow...
