I just bought a MPC 2000 and everything is new to me. I dont understand how to make a sequence play just once in song mode, like for instance some type of intro to your beat that you only want there at the beginning.[/b]

this is one of those things that you just play around with the thing and find out how to do it.

If you're in song mode you'll see step, sequence and reps.Reps is how many times you need it to play.If you don't have a manual try to download it because it's a big help to have it handy.40% Manual,60% trial and error/experimenting.

yea i got the manual, I understand everything you told me, I can set the rep to 1, but then whatever sequence i have following that i want to loop.
when its set like this the whole song keeps looping over playing my intro when i only want it to play once. I hope this makes sense to you

thanks

Oh ok,turn loop off. When loop is on that's what it'll do loop that first seq.

if your setting it up in SONG mode then you'll be on the screen that lets you list which sequences you want to play in the order you list them....

If you wanna only play the intro first, Select the intro sequence. then for the second one, select a chorus sequence or a verse sequence....then if you want the verse to play after that select your verse sequence. how ever many times you want that sequence to play select how many times you want it to play before it goes to the next sequence in your list...

hope that helps

A LOT of people ask this. Try the search. You can't sample with midi. Midi is not audio. You can only sample using the record in.

Midi is just data not sound.Get an external sample source ie, c.d player, record player, synth whatever you can find.
