Duplicating pgms

hi, im using the mpc1000 to lay some tracks. i needed to add effects to a certain sample in a pgm. then duplicate the track and change the eq for another. but when i'd adjust the eq for the duplicated track it does the same for the first one! how do i get around this?

Copy the actual sample and not the pad.
