Hi there,
This is my first time using this forum. I have been searching for 2 hours for any post about the pros and cons of MPC1000 vs other MPC models and have come up short.

Yes, I saw the post that said "no more mpc1000 vs mpc2000 posts", but I cannot find these alleged million posts.

Any search tips would be helpful, I guess im bad at this...

I have searched for MPC1000 vs MPC2000 and MPC1000 pros and cons and various other searches.

Sorry to bug ya

apparently your browser will not navigate you too the akai website. Here are direct links to the akai product pages. This should allow you to form your own opinion

here is a thread like you asked about. It does not have the title you want, but a quick read into the text, and it has useful information.

here is one more gemstarblade. This is written by mpctutor himself. and should answer all your questions

Thank you for your response it has been very helpful.

I have looked at the specs of the MPC1000 and 2000 on Akais website, but was more interested in personal experience. The other links you gave me were perfect.

...I have played with both MPC1000 and XL at guitar center for 10 minutes. I was amazed at the ease of making a beat on the MPC1000. Within minutes, I made my own beat and timed it to match the tempo being played by a keyboardist behind me, we jammed out for a while. I couldnt figure out how to work the XL wthin 5 minutes and assumed it didnt have any drum sounds loaded yet. With no more time left for me to play, I left thinking the MPC1000 was the one...

... now I am getting the feeling, from reveiws, most would want to keep an MPC2000XL over trading it for a 1k. But it seems suggested that new MPC buyers should buy MPC1000 for the money and ease...

I am torn over these 2 types, but I know for sure that the MPC4000 is viewed far superior and I will check the price (I already can guess it is way out of my budget right now)....

I am fairly new to the game with only 2 turntables, mixer, a "Dr. Sample" cheap $300.00 sampler, and an old 4-track cassette recorder (and my guitar of course!). I have been sampling alot already, but cant stand my sampler's inability to properly produce and play sequenced drum patterns. In my research I have decided that I need either an MPC or an SP-1200 for my styles.

Oh well, Im blabbering on! Ill post soon when I actually buy one and have something to talk about.

...If any one cares,
8), peace...
