Quantize???

Just wanted to get some info on the Quantize Function on the MPC 2000xl. I belive that I have been doing what it does in real time but I dont know enough to be sure. Swing?? 50% or 75%??? Finially what will this do specifically to the snares, hats and kicks. I hope this is not a dumb question becuase the dude at Guitar Center looked at me crazy. [/b]
