Front USB port, Can I use a Midi-controller?

I was reading www.onestopbeat.com and it indicated the front USB
port can be used for Extrenal HD, keyboard and Oxygen 8 controller.
I made a thread two weeks ago about having problems with my Edirol midi controller, and someone wrote back indicating it was for
a computer keyboard. Can someone please clear this up?

What did the manual have to say about what you can hook up to that usb port in the front of the 4k?

well, if your edirol still is not working. What do you think that means.
