Modules with the right sounds

I wanna ask a couple of questions.
1st what the hell is craig's list i always read evrywhere, anyways thats out of the point.

i'm no newb but its that i used to straight up compose all my beats with reason 2.5.
but ever since i got ma mpc 1000 i've just been rockin with vinyl and da mpc. now i wanna incorporate some synths to do what i'm really good at, composing.

I wanna knoe from people that have used these modules.
When it comes to the roland jv series, and the proteus 2000, which of them have the best strings, piano, picked guitar, rhodes, and bass.
i just wanna hear u guys opinions on these different tools.
and i read somewhere that the jv 1010 is best used with a computer. why???

I can answer a few question, the JV-1010 is best used with computers because you can't edit every funtion on the module alone. I have a 1080. You can edit everything on there and it sounds great and its cheap. The bad side is that cards are getting more expensive for it. I have the keys of the 60's and 70's card for it and it cost the same price as my moudle now. I had a Pk-6 keyboard a while ago, and there is no comparisson to the emu to roland. I think roland has them beat. I would look at getting a XV-3080. Its discontinued now but still can be bought on ebay and it uses the srx expansion cards which hold more data and sound better than the old cards. It has a new sound libraray and it has most of the jv-2080 libraray. Thats what I would buy if I was looking for a cheap module that would last me a while.

When you buy most new sound modlues these days they have expanison slots in them. That way you can buy new sounds. Like for instance my 1080 has 4 exp slots in it. So I can buy 4 cards of diffrents sounds. So you can expand what you have so you don't have to spend the money on a new sound moudle.
