i got a mpc 2000 xl. If i get the 8 output expansion with the digital i/o, the manual states that I would lose my analog sampling option and I would only be left with digital sampling. I mainly sample from a turntable using a vestax pmc pro5 mixer. What is the name of that wire that connects my mixer to the digital in of the mpc?

Uhhh... that's false. I have the 8 outs and I sample through the L/R analog RECORD INs.

My turntable (stanton str-80) has analog and digital outs and I can sample both on my MPC2kxl, yet I prefer the analog input connected to the out of my dj mixer. The samples just turn out 'hotter' than via the digital input.
