MPC 2000 and mpc 1000 question

I am new to this board and I have a question about the MPC 2000 (not the xl) and mpc 1000. I am thinking about getting one and I was wondering if it will work for tracking to cakewalk software thru my sound card because I will be recording my vocals onto cakewalk. I have a audiophile 2496 sound card by m audio. Will this work or should I get a mpc 1000 if I also want to track my beats thru my sound card to my cakewalk software. I want to use the mpc to sample vinyl.

They can both do the things you want. If you want a more stand-alone machine with extensive sample editing then I would go for the MPC2Kxl otherwise the mpc1000 will be fine.
