connecting mfc 42?help

sorry for this question but that mfc 42 manual dosen't help..
i would send the sound from my mpc 2000xl into the mfc42,but for some reason it won't take the sound..i just want to filter the sound and send it back to the mp..sorry for such a stupid question i'm new to this.
help me..

You can't send it back to the XL. Get a mixer

To filter a sound(track) from the 2000xl it has to be recorded into the mpc as a midi event. midi in/out mpc to mfc, mpc stereo out to mfc stereo in, record to separate track on mpc.Pg. 20-23 in mfc manual.
