I have a DJX and MPC1000.

I did a search but this question was never asked.

I got it Midi linked to the MP, that works. I know how to locate midi settings on the DJX, that's fine.

But does anyone know how if the DJX is able to play more than one instrument at a time thru the MPC? So far I can only get one sound out, corresponding to one channel, assigned to DJX and the MPC. If channel 6 has flute, then the other 15 channels has the preset piano sound. Is there a way to reset them to other sounds from the board?

Also the manual says that if the remote channel is set to Off, then the DJX can be used as a full 16 channel multi timbral sound source.
But when I do this, I still dont see a way to assign different voices to each channel.

How can I do this?

Omini Mode will do it, you must change the sounds on the Mpc for you to hear all 16 channels, " Pgm 1-127" and all the realtime controllers work on programs such as reason, ableton live, search around for the Djx software on the net is free, if you cant still figure play around with midi modes in the Djx, I hope that Helps. Is Omini mode a software? Im not working with a PC. Just Keyboards and the MPC. I also have a Motif.

Im a little confused when you said, change the sounds on the MPC.

Sorry to confuse you, the software is for you controlling the djx with a computer, my bad, omini mode is in the djx, select on or off, by default it is off, Okay when i mean pgm changes in the mpc, i mean, you assign, midi 1a to track 1 i assume the Djx is on A, if not 1B, on the mpc on the screen will see pgm off, turn that and you could select the sounds off the djx, then you repeat the process Trk 2 Midi Channel 2a, the Track 3 3A, now you will have all you sound the way you want it. for better help read the manual of the djx is very useful with the display pages.Peace

Thanx Synagodz.

Do you have a DJX 1? Because there's no listing of Omini anywhere in it, or the manual.

And I know what I think your trying to say about going through the sounds with the MP, but theres no indication that this even works like that. You said turn the area where it says program, and it will go through the DJX sounds? Nah I WISH. But that did not happen.

At most, I was able to get 3 different voices going at once through the MP. Everytime I go to a different track on the MP, and select a channel, then go back to the DJX to select a new voice, that works, but once that's done, I notice that the track before that has now reverted back to the default piano voice. Meaning the track did not retain the (for example) flute sound which I had just assigned to it, after I had just repeated the process to the another track.

There also does'nt seem to be a particular funtion within the DJX, that HOLDS a chosen voice to a particular channel. This seems to be the problem.
