To perform a midi dump connect midi out of keyboard to midi in of mpc.
Press record + start on the mpc as if you were to record a new sequence.

Start midi dump on your keyboard (check keyboard manual on how to do this). Once the midi dump is finished press the stop button on the MPC to stop recording. Save the sequence you just recorded (aka the midi dump) for later usage.

To send this midi dump back to the synth load the sequence in the MPC connect a midi cable from mpc out to synth in and press play to send the midi dump data to the mpc.

That's all there is to it.

y'all know what? I consider myself a smart cat but for the life of me this midi stuff just escapes me. I just can't get it. All I know how to do is play my sound module with my Oxygen8. Other than it's all alien language to me. I guess that's why I don't f*ck with it

you can just save the dum as a sequence (MID) file. I dunno whether your screen of the keyboard should show anything that really depends upon the keyboard I guess.

yeah i know, tell me about it.

the only way i use midi is between my roland vs890 and my mpc. Just to synch up the tempos so if i wanna go back and change the beat, or do a remix, i can do that and it will all line up.

But as far as midi'ing my keyboard with my mpc to make some music, i havent gotten into it cause im still feelin strictly samples from wax. Im kinda stubborn, i know i should learn.
