mpd installation problem

im trying to hook my mpd up via usb. i bought it off ebay and it came with a burned cd of drivers that are the same as the ones on the akaipro site, the 1.01 i believe it is. when i try to install i get an error that says:

Error1606Could not access network location %userprofile%\recent\.

the only thing i could get from searching here is that i may need the original drivers, which i cannot find
any help would be appreciated, ive waited almost six months to get this thing

i installed it on my friends computer and it worked, i think i'll try hooking it up with midi cables and see what happens
