what's goin on people. my name's hershel (aka The Shaman) and i'm new to the whole beat-making game. i got a ghetto ass rig hooked up to make my music. i got an mpc 2xl, a roland fantom-s, and a desktop stereo (go figure how i hook up to play my beats!). anyways, i'm in the military and i do my thing to keep myself focused. i make my beats & i record em on tape (lol), but they sound pretty nice for a rookie like myself (i've gotten alot of good feedback from the ones i've made so far). i've probably got all the books you have on your shelf about making beats (Beat Tips & even the big ass mpc tutorial book- nice!), but i have three questions... (for now)
1) what are the best tutorial dvd's? i was going to get that sampleking's joints but, i'm glad i didn't since i read the reviews
2) which vendor has the best drum samples? i'm a down south n*gga * i live for that knock nah'mean?
3)i recently got a computer & i've been looking at this usb audio interface called Omega Studio (it comes w/ cubase le) to hook up my sh*t to record stuff on my computer. is this a good product? or could anyone give me some suggestions on the basics on a good studio setup is like.
man i tell you... this music stuff can be mad technical & complicated. i love music but sometimes i scratch my head sometimes like "damn, this sh*t is hard!" but i never give up. and that's when i keep grinding until i make something bump. anyways, that's me. i hope somebody gives me some feedback. take care. one.
