turning simultaneous sounds off?

Got a 2kxl

I want to play a 4-beat sample like 4times in one bar and everytime it adds up into some art of orgy of sounds. But if I hit the pad twice in trim-mode, the old sample immediately stops..

So, how can I turn off, that the sample is played whole length after hittin' the button a second time?

you can either turn the sample to 'note off' from PROGRAM mode under PARAMS

the options you have i think are poly, mono, or note off.....(I THINK cause im not in front of my mpc)

poly is to play the sample all the way thru.
mono i think cuts the sample off when you press another pad?
note off stops the sample when you release the pad

again, i think this is correct. im not at home so...
