Yo Somebody Help Me Please...

I've been a DJ for about 8 years and I feel its time for me to start making beats. I've been knowing about the Akai MPC 2000. I was thinking of copping the 2000XL.And if I do. Can someone help me on what else I would need ?
1. Im confused where to record it on. Computer Recording or Multi Track??
2. Im really interested into getting a Yamaha Motif also. Will this go good with The MPC?

Any of your tips or suggestions would do me a lot of good. Thanks for yo time folks.

coming from one dj to another. getting an mpc is a good move. you may want to do research on which one to get. there are pros and cons about each of the 3 mpc's on the market. (1000, 2000[xl], 4000). yes, the motif goes good with either of them. damn good, in fact. as far as computer recording.... i think i know what you're talking about. there are plenty of software to fit your budget to record with. if you are really unfamiliar with which one to buy try getting an audio interface (oh, by the way, you will need one if you plan on the computer route) that comes with cubase LE. if you want something more in depth, hit me on the PM
