Whats up fam? I just got my MPC and I wanna stock it full of tight programs. Obviously alot of drums, some bass, you know...the essentials.

So what do you pros do for building your programs? Do you grab random kicks/snares/hats and make your own kit? Do you buy pre-made kits ready to bang out? Or do you use pre-made kits from the Tritons, Mo Phatts, and Fantoms?

I've got that BlueBox program so I've been building kits from soundfont's using Chainer and that seems to work damn good. But I'm looking for some other roads to take.

Also, do you prefer multi-sampling? I've also heard about this 16-level thing. Whats that all about??

Peace.

Create my programs via MPC Editor. AWAVE Studio. MPC2kxl.
Do you grab random kicks/snares/hats and make your own kit?
Sometimes
Do you buy pre-made kits ready to bang out?
Since I've learned to make my own kits and customize my drums, no, I don't buy sounds anymore and I'd encourage youto do the same so you don't sound like everyone else, the more work/imagination you put in the more personal your sound is
Or do you use pre-made kits from the Tritons, Mo Phatts, and Fantoms?
I sometimes take those drums and layer/process the hell outta them, again, making my own creations
I've got that BlueBox program so I've been building kits from soundfont's using Chainer and that seems to work damn good. But I'm looking for some other roads to take.
I use ALOT of soundfonts, they are nice
