2000 os disc upgrade

i down loaded some sounds from a friend, and my mpc 2000 did not read the disc. it said that i had to upgrade the os . do i really have to do this, and where can i get it from?

I know this might sound dumb,but what exactly does this version do?
I've heard someone mention the addendum version before but it was never explained.

lamp thanks for that link. i am wondering myself about that. what is special about it ? my regular start up disc is ok. will it add more options? i have had my 2000 since 1999, and it works fine.
