Newbie question, say I have a drum loop on my electribe, can I assign that to "track 1" on my MPC (instead of recording the MIDI data to my MPC) and be able to mute it on the MPC...? If not, how should I go about doing this on the fly (when both are playing)?

Trying to set up a live production rig~

The only way you are going to be able to do that is with MIDI.

You should get a computer based sequencer like Cubase. Cubase will be the master and all your other machines (MPC, Electribe, etc.) will be the slave.

mpc midi out to electribe midi in. This sort of seq. triggering uses song start/stop commands via midi. It can be done with just those 2 machines. As far as the mutes, I would probably insert empty bars (haven't tried it yet). The electribe would have to be sync'd(slaved) to the mpc.
