Probably because it's playing back the whole sample, you can change the decay so that it doesn't do that.
Then you may also have to adjust the duration of the Event to match the length of the Measure.
There are probably a couple of ways to do this, Hope that helps.

Yeah also you could change the way the sample plays back, ie Poly, Mono, or notes off (I have a 2KXL so that's what I know).
And check to see if it is in loop mode (which on the 2KXL will make it notes off).
