just out of curiousity...is their any program out there that can take a let say 2 3/4 bar and strech it out to be a fool 3 bars

ableton live can do that i think. Im pretty sure ive done it before. Also by chopping up the loop u can make it work which u can do in the mpc.

how does choppin make it do that...i understand with drum samples...but what if you got a audio phrase how does choppin work then.

Reason 3.0 has got ReCycle which will match any loop fitting it beat for beat, it just like 'choppin' but it does it for you

What about the time stretch function on the MPC.. or is this not what you mean.. its pretty good when used sparingly.. for small stretches the sound degradation is negligible.. when you try and stretch it too far is gets all robotey... cause its essentially chopping your sample up into little bits and moving them apart to "stretch" it out...

Go into your trim screen.. its one of the options in the edit menu.. also do some searchs on here.. there's like a million topics about it...
