HELP NEEDED - Does an S950 + PC sequencer + MPD 16 = MPC 60?

I'm new to all this, and was wondering if by having an AKAI S950 sampler, a PC and an AKAI MPD 16 pad I basically had all the functions of an MPC 60 (obviouslly without the portability).

I have been told that a S950 is basically the same as the sampler side of an MPC 60 and a PC can operate as a sequencer, so how can the MPD 16 pad fit in with these two?

The MPD 16 is your midi controller.

You hit the pads and it triggers your samples to play.

The sequencer can then record these midi messages sent by hitting the pads. So you can play them back, edit them etc..
