wussup guys im new to the form and need serious help. i have an mpc 1000, korg triton le keyboard, samson mdr624 mixer, 2 samson studio monitor speakers, and an apple mac powerbook g4. ok obviously i am aspiring to become a producer, rap beats in particular. what is bugging the crap outta me is how to hook all this shit up, i am CLUELESS. i have a million wires, 1/4 cables, midi cables etc etc. what i want to do is hook up all my equiptment to my cpu so i can make beat in Cubase using the sounds from my mpc and triton. if anyone is familiar with hooking up the items i have wrote about here please give me ur adive and walk me through the connection process. other than that, if nobody has a clue about this subject, can somebody just tell me the basic way to make a beat on the mpc. i have tried makin a sequence but when the recording times runs to its end my beat will get smushed together and have no clue how to edit it. please help and thanks guys, i must be the epitomy of a beginner lol.

Well first off you hook everything up to your mixer. Every output you have should go into your mixers inputs. Your midi connection should go like this.
triton midi plugs into the mpc's midi out.
mpc's midi in plugs into the tritons midi out.
This will allow you to sequence your triton with your mpc. Do a search on setting up midi channels with your triton and mpc. I know how to do it with a fantom but not with a triton.
If you want to sequence eveything with cubase instead with your mpc. (I don't think this is the best way to do it but anyways.) You would need a midi interface to plug all your midi cables into your computer. Then you would need to assign the midi channels and everything inside of cubase. I don't know how to do that cause I don't sequence with my computer. Its kind of hard to explain the basics of making a beat. First of read the manual and try everything you read! This way you will know every single function of your mpc. Sorry but I can't really explain how to make a beat.

I suggest you sequence everything in your mpc. Then sync your mpc to your firbox via midi. (does it have midi?) This way when you press play on your computer everything else will play. Now plug the stereo outputs of your mixer into the firebox so that you can record audio.

Damn you got all that equipment, you got no idea how to set it up, and your asking how to make a beat!

Something not quite right here. :?
