fruity loops to control mpc

hi im a newby and the first thing i want to say is SORRY!! ive seen how all the other noobs got gunned down for asking questions so im just gonna straight up apologize beforehand just to save time later..


i recently got me an mpc4000 and a love the damn thing.. cant use it very well but i am determined to master it.. no where near that stage yet..

i heard that you can use fruity loops (and probably loads of other programs if its true) to control the mpc.. i hooked the mpc up to my computer and i got the drivers and software from the site.. but i cant find any way to control it with fruity.. is there sum kind of plugin i need to install??

before you gunned indeed!! I suggest you master that 4000 n fuk a Fruity!! its long!! if u really need to use it, then control via MIDI...

You cant control via any other way (no drivers no nuttin dont work dat way!)
MPC and PC integration? not in this lifetime mate!!!...but at the rate Numark is going on i would not be suprised!!!

i really cant believe you wanted to do that!! dats like buying a beemer but wanting to just sit in the seats and not drive it.

ahhhh,, no the guy i bought it off said "you can use fruity loops to control it.." in those words.. so iwas sitting there yesterday for bare long wastin time tryin to figure out how to do it..

yo dawg im not gonna be mean but im gonna tell u str8 up that the mpc 4000 has way more potential man, just play around with it and figure out how to use it to the best of its ability and in the end man your gonna say "fruity loops, wat was i thinking??" but its okay dawg your new to it and i kno how it feels not to really know things so dont worry about the haters just keep doing your thing with time youll know wats up..

cool hustler i'll follow that advice it sounds good.. i didnt spend the dough on it for nuttin.. im gonna suss that thing inside out..

I have a MPC1000 and FL5, but I used the mpc to control FL5. I think you should do the same too.

personally i'd throw fruity loops in the bin for now and be getting it on wid the 4000. you can always pull that garbage back out if you need it later. enjoy that 4k.

I don't own a 4k but i know enough about it to know that if you sit down and learn it then you probably wouldn't want to use FL anymore (or not as much)...

But if you insist on using FL then why not work your combo the other way around? The 4k needs to be in charge of FL.. lol.. Good luck man...

You need a MIDI interface for your computer that accepts a midi cable. Put a cable from the MPC midi output to the computer midi input.

Then find the settings in Fruity to select the midi port that you used and pick a midi channel. Then set the mpc to transmit midi on that channel.


Clearly that guy who sold it to you didn't know sh*** about midi.
